Doing the Right Thing

I think I’m doing the right thing, because I’m doing my own thing.

You know, we experience so many things each day that it is not uncommon to get involved with things to the point where we think that the right thing to do is what we see everyone is doing. After all, if they are doing it, or thinking about it, then it must be the right thing to do.

Maybe you don’t agree with that, but if you tend to think what your mother thinks, or if you usually make decisions based upon the advice of your friends, you better think about this a little more.

I’ll tell you what I know. I know that doing what others do is not a good criterion if you want to be happy. Why? Because even when people do the best they can it doesn’t mean that is the best thing to do. It is just what they think it is the best thing to do. Maybe it is not the right thing for you.

You have your own variety of things to take into consideration, such as your own background, your own knowledge, your own way of looking at things, your own culture… even your own weight.

You, my friend, are a very different scenario that the rest of the world, including me and your mother. You are special.

There is a quote that says “follow your bliss”. If you will read it again, you’ll notice that it says “your bliss” instead of “their bliss” or “her bliss”. Interesting, isn’t it?

So, are you doing the right thing for you?

Have a great week 😉

Leila.
